North Country Folk Songs Philip Wilby

Horizons Andrew Carter

The Sprig of Thyme John Rutter

conducted by Francesca Massey

with soprano Janette Cattell and accompanied by Debbi Parks on piano

Our summer programme features 20th-century music from around the British Isles.  Andrew Carter's Horizons sets seven sea poems as a metaphor for life's voyage, encapsulating the spirit of adventure, spaciousness, and a yearning for what lies beyond.  John Rutter's The Sprig of Thyme offers a selection of traditional songs from long-standing favourites such as Down by the Sally Gardens and The Miller of Dee to lesser-known gems, all in an attractive, fresh arrangement.  Philip Wilby's tuneful North Country Folk Songs is a varied set of songs, ranging from the scrumptious harmonies of Marianne to the light-hearted Byker Hill.

Tickets are £15 for adults (£16 on the door) and £5 for 18’s and under (£6 on the door). Card payments on the door are preferred To purchase tickets, please CLICK HERE. .
